Apoyo a la Parentalidad en Situación de Reclusión

En este artículo se realiza una revisión narrativa de la literatura sobre el impacto del encarcelamiento de una figura parental en el desarrollo y bienestar de los/as niños/as. Se concluye que estos/as tienen un mayor riesgo de desarrollar, en el futuro, problemas de salud mental. También se señalan efectos negativos en las dinámicas familiares para la familia de la persona privada de libertad, particularmente en lo que respecta a la parentalidad y la vida conyugal. Paralelamente, se identifica un conjunto de estudios sobre intervenciones de promoción de la parentalidad positiva y responsiva en el contexto de reclusión, con resultados prometedores en cuanto a la mejora de la calidad de la relación entre padres e hijos/as y la prevención de la reincidencia del comportamiento delictivo. Así, no obstante las limitaciones señaladas por la literatura revisada y las implicaciones para futuras investigaciones, se busca evidenciar el potencial de la intervención parental en situación de reclusión, destacando que este tipo de apoyo relacional puede constituir una forma de concretar Derechos, en especial, los Derechos de los/as Niños/as.
