Notes for a Critical Approach to AI Textual Affordances

Saturación, Sentido y Muerte: Apuntes para una aproximación crítica a las posibilidades textuales de la IA
La demanda de una moratoria sobre el desarrollo de IA por parte de representantes influyentes de los gigantes tecnológicos es una señal ambivalente de miedo. Las perspectivas de Baudrillard sobre el posible fin del capitalismo y su régimen de simulación ofrecen oportunidades para interpretar esta señal como la conciencia repentina, entre las élites tecno-corporativas, de que la IA puede provocar el fin del capitalismo a través de condiciones de saturación, implosión y exceso. Estas condiciones están relacionadas con la relación entre el miedo a la muerte y el papel de las habilidades textuales o “creación de significado†para abordar este miedo. La producción de “significado sin sentidoâ€, a través de las posibilidades textuales de la IA, desafía el estatus del texto y de la creación de significado como una respuesta humana atávica al miedo a la muerte. Como la resiliencia del capitalismo depende de la supresión del (miedo a) la muerte, el desarrollo de las posibilidades textuales de la IA interfiere con esta respuesta y el miedo que suprime, sugiriendo la posibilidad de un “indeterminismo†tecnológico. A través de la mediación de la inteligencia “orgánica†y el conocimiento crítico, los miedos relacionados con la IA y las preocupaciones sobre el fin del capitalismo por saturación, pueden interpretarse como condiciones previas para la reevaluación epistémica de la experiencia humana de la vida y el miedo a la muerte, antes de los efectos deshumanizantes de la simulación tecnológica de la vida. Este artículo es un compromiso preliminar, no empírico y en gran medida especulativo o reflexivo, con tres proposiciones sobre la relación entre las posibilidades textuales de la IA y la experiencia de saturación, significado y muerte.
