Open Access Policy (Diamond Open Access)

  1. General principle

Interações: Sociedade e Novas Modernidades provides immediate Open Access to all published content. Articles are made available online in full text, without access barriers, on the journal website.

  1. Diamond Open Access model

The journal follows the Diamond Open Access model, meaning that:

  • no article processing charges (APCs) are required from authors at any stage;
  • no subscription or access fees are charged to readers;
  • submission, peer review, editing and publication are supported through the journal’s institutional framework.
  1. Licence and reuse

Journal content is published under a Creative Commons licence, which specifies reuse conditions.

Licence applied: Attribution – NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0)

In general, the licence allows sharing and reuse, provided that:

  • proper attribution is given to the authors and the journal;
  • the full reference to the published article is included;
  • the licence is indicated and any changes are disclosed where applicable.
  1. Copyright and publishing rights

Authors retain copyright. By publishing in Interações, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive licence to publish, disseminate, archive and preserve the article, and to provide metadata and files for indexing and interoperability purposes.

Third-party reuse is governed by the applicable Creative Commons licence.

  1. Self-archiving and repositories

Interações encourages authors to deposit and disseminate their articles in:

  • institutional and national repositories;
  • subject repositories;
  • personal academic webpages and scholarly platforms, in compliance with attribution and licence terms.

Permitted versions: published version and/or accepted manuscript (where applicable).

Embargo: no embargo, except in duly justified exceptional cases.

  1. Interoperability and preservation

The journal supports discoverability and long-term preservation through complete metadata, editorial archiving procedures and, where applicable, persistent identifiers and indexing workflows.

  1. Sustainability

Diamond Open Access is sustained through institutional support and editorial work, ensuring universal access without shifting costs to authors or readers.

  1. Effective date and updates

This policy is effective from the date of publication on the journal website and may be updated when necessary. The website version is the current policy.
