Author Guidelines
Interações. Sociedade e as Novas Modernidades publishes scientific research articles and original theoretical essays in the field of the Social and Human Sciences.
Occasionally, the journal may include critical book reviews, provided they are relevant to its scientific and editorial scope and subject to a decision by the journal’s Direction.
General requirements
Submitted manuscripts must:
- Be original and unpublished;
- Not be simultaneously submitted to another journal or scientific publication;
- Fall within the journal’s scientific and editorial scope; Comply with ethical standards of scientific research and the journal’s editorial policies.
Submission of a manuscript implies full acceptance of these conditions.
Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in the manuscript being returned prior to the start of the review process.
Language of publication
The journal accepts manuscripts written in Portuguese (European and Brazilian variants), Spanish or English.
Texts must present clarity of expression, linguistic accuracy and terminological rigour. Authors are responsible for ensuring the quality of the writing.
Manuscript structure
Manuscripts must include, where applicable:
- Title;
- Abstract and keywords;
- Main text;
- References.
Abstract and keywords
Manuscripts must include:
- A clear and concise abstract summarising the objectives, methodology and main results or arguments of the work;
- Between three and five keywords appropriate to the manuscript’s content.
When the manuscript is not written in English, the abstract and keywords must also be provided in English.
Formatting and referencing standards
Interações. Sociedade e as Novas Modernidades adopts the American Psychological Association (APA) standards, in their most recent edition, particularly regarding:
- In-text citations;
- Reference list;
- Tables and figures.
Manuscripts that do not comply with APA standards may be returned to authors before the review process begins.
Anonymity
To ensure double-blind peer review, manuscripts must not contain any elements that allow identification of the authors.
