Abstract

Transforming the Public into Sustainable: An Analysis of International Scientific Production on Sustainability and Sustainable Development in Public Administration

This research aims to analyze scientific production on sustainable development and sustainability from the perspective of Public Administration. The study expands the understanding of the main characteristics of scientific publications on the topic, using bibliometric and network analysis tools. The Scopus database was selected to search for articles with the terms “sustainab*” or ““public administration”, refining by the areas of Business and Economics. Production on sustainability and sustainable development in Public Administration has increased significantly in the last decade, with notable growth from 2020 onwards. Journals such as CIRIEC, the Journal of Cleaner Production and the Public Administration Review stand out. This study contributes with a comprehensive view of the trends and central topics in research on sustainability and public administration, reinforcing the seriousness surrounding the integration of sustainability principles into public governance.
