Abstract

A autora discute a prática profissional do serviço social, enquanto prática profissional ético-hermenêutica, a partir da ética dialógica e da racionalidade prática na hermenêutica filosófica de H.-G. Gadamer, com ênfase na complementaridade entre phronÄ“sis e synesis e na inseparabilidade entre logos e ethos e, por outro lado, entre subjetividade do saber e substancialidade do ser.  

 

Ethics and Social Work: Professional Duty, or a Matter of Application?

The author discusses the meaning of social work as an ethico-hermeneutic professional practice, exploring the concepts of dialogic ethics and practical rationality in H.-G. Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics, with emphasis on the complementarity between phronÄ“sis and synesis, and the inseparability between logos and ethos, and, on the other hand, between  subjectivity of knowledge and substantiality of being.
