Abstract

Repensar o Serviço Social na sociedade contemporânea implica refletir sobre a recontextualização do seu universo simbólico e, de igual modo, sobre a recriação da sua imagem tradicional e constructo de intervenção profissional. Esta análise é baseada numa perspetiva historicizante para compreender o processo de relegitimação, destradicionalização e modernização do paradigma do Serviço Social.

A Sociological Eye Over the Modernisation of Social Work

Rethinking Social Work in contemporary society implies to reflect on the recontextualization of its symbolic universe, and as well as on the recreation of its traditional image and construct of professional intervention. This analysis is based on a historicizing perspective to understand the process of religitimation, detraditionalization and modernisation of the Social Work paradigm.
